Electrical Upgrades in New Jersey

Joseph Coupal - Friday, December 28, 2012

PSE&G will begin replacing transformers, circuit breakers and transmission lines at some substations in New Jersey next week as part of an effort to improve electrical delivery, power quality and reliability, the company said.

This is part of the company’s plan to spend more than $3 billion over the next three years on capital improvements to its distribution system.

Crews will replace transformers, circuit breakers, and overhead transmission lines.

Also, the company will convert other transmission lines to a 69,000-volt substation from 26,000 volts and will replace old equipment with state-of-the art, modern equipment.

This electrical infrastructure upgrade will ensure continued safe, reliable utility service for area residents and business owners.
