Utility Workers Reach Contract Agreement with ElecComm Corporation

Three year agreement offers UWUA Local 369’s fiber optic and electric workers important healthcare, salary and retirement protections.

BRAINTREE (September 2, 2012) – The Utility Workers Union of America Local 369 announced today it has reached a three year agreement with ElecComm Corporation, an electric and communications line construction company based in Wilmington, Mass.

ElecComm employs 40 UWUA Local 369 members who serve in the areas of fiber optic communications and electric cable work. The agreement, which comes after 2 months of negotiations, offers important protections for workers in the key areas of working conditions, compensation, healthcare and retirement.  

“We’re pleased to announce that our members have voted to accept a new contract agreement with ElecComm,” said Dan Hurley, president of UWUA Local 369.  “These workers’ efforts day in and day out are critical to help effectively prepare for and respond to storms.  This new contract recognizes their important contributions to ensure safe and reliable power for our communities.”

The new contract runs through September 1, 2015.
